There are a number of demonstrations happening this year. Feel free to be activist, participating this summer in some of these directives that undertake policy change and in the community.
On September 27 and 28, 2019 starting at 10:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm. The demonstration will be of the transsexual community in a march known as "National Trans Visibility of March." Anyone interested can register on the Eventbrite website. The purpose of the march is to "demand justice for lives taken through senseless killings" and to "demand financial equality and employment opportunities" for the transgender community. The march will take place in Liberty Square, Washington, DC. Families and children are welcome to join the march.
A March to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre will be held on June 4, starting at 1:30 pm. at 3:00 pm. at US Capitol West Lawn First Street SW & 1st Street, NW Washington, DC 20004. The march will be organized by the Commemorative Foundation for the Victims of Communism.
Tuesday, July 9 there will be the sayDyslexia awareness march from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm. The location of this demonstration will be at the Capitol Visitor Center (to the right of the entrance). Address, East Capitol Street NE and First Street NE Washington, DC 20004. The march aims to celebrate the progress made by students with dyslexia in school and in everyday life. Teachers and parents hope to advocate for a change in promoting the additional support required by those students who find it difficult to participate in the rigorous demands encountered when competing with their peers who do not suffer from this debilitating diagnosis.
From the Eventbrite registration page the "Hometown to the House Public Event on Capitol Hill" will begin on Tuesday, June 11 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The event is intended to allow members share your story on stage intended for a Clima Ciudadano Lobbyers (CCLers) audience Be sure to record a message for Congress so that your voice is that of an active constituency.
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, Casa S.A.F.E (saving a family early) will host the "Light up the night (walk on domestic violence and firearms)" from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Located at the 7th District Police Station, 2455 Alabama Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020.
