Vienna, VA- On the evening of July 24, 2022, a police pursuit of a large black pickup truck resulted in a hit-and-run when the large black pickup truck ran through the stop sign at the intersection of Tapawingo and Cottage street. Eyewitnesses at the intersection saw the white SUV being propelled into nearby bushes from the impact of the crash and the black pickup truck continuing to flee the police.
Vienna Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene to remove the driver and passenger from the vehicle, whose front and side airbags had deployed. The pair were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police were still searching for the black pickup truck involved in the crash when the LNT news team arrived.
Regardless of this accident, The Town of Vienna remains below the state average for hit-and-run incidents.
